Great research… in chalk drawings

Visit the Sidewalk Symposium outside Hill Library on Sept. 12

Chalk drawings plus innovative research? You need to see this!

Join us in the plaza outside of Hill Library’s Hillsborough Street doors for the first annual Sidewalk Symposium on Thursday, Sept. 12 from 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. Undergraduates from all majors will share their research, scholarly, and creative projects through colorful visual presentations. Watch the creativity unfold as they showcase their research with sidewalk chalk. We will even have an "artist-on-hand" to assist with conceptualizing research into art. Oh, and there will be ice cream too!

“This event was inspired by the sidewalk symposium that takes place at the University of Colorado at Boulder,” Lara Herzellah, Student Success and Engagement Librarian, says. “People who stop by during the event will see students in the midst of drawing and creating their chalk art posters.”

If you are interested in signing up to draw, register here by September 6.

The event is free and open to the public, and is hosted by the Office of Undergraduate Research.
